Day-by-Day
Your Journey Unfolds
Tap any day to reveal what awaits. Every detail has been planned so you can be fully present.
01Arrival Β· Guwahati to Shillongπ 100 km Β· ~3 hrs Β· Overnight: Shillong
On arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, your private vehicle and driver will be waiting to receive you. Begin the scenic 3-hour transfer through lush landscapes into the Meghalayan hills. En route, make a leisurely stop at the magnificent Umiam Lake (Barapani) β a sprawling reservoir nestled in pine-clad hills where optional water sports like kayaking and speed boating await.
Upon arrival in Shillong β the "Scotland of the East" β check in at your hotel and freshen up. As evening falls, take a stroll through Police Bazaar, Shillong's buzzing local market, perfect for picking up Meghalayan handicrafts, local produce, and Khasi snacks.
02Laitlum Canyons Β· Krang Suri Fallsπ 115 km Β· 4 hrs each way Β· Overnight: Shillong
After a leisurely breakfast, set out for the breathtaking Laitlum Canyons β one of Meghalaya's most dramatic viewpoints. Winding trails lead to canyon edges where the valley drops away in sheer folds of green, with cloud shadows drifting far below. The silence here is profound.
Next, head to Krang Suri Falls, widely considered one of Meghalaya's most beautiful waterfalls. A turquoise natural pool at its base invites you to swim. If you're feeling adventurous, you can even walk behind the curtain of falling water β a truly immersive experience. After lunch at a local eatery, return to Shillong for an evening at leisure.
03Mawlynnong Village Β· Dawki Β· Cherrapunjiπ 120 km Β· ~3 hrs Β· Overnight: Cherrapunji
This is one of the most rewarding days of the journey. Start with Mawlynnong Village β Asia's cleanest village, just 90 km from Shillong. Flower-lined pathways, bamboo dustbins, and immaculate homes reflect an entire community's commitment to beauty and sustainability. Visit the iconic Living Root Bridge β a natural wonder where Khasi tribes have trained tree roots across streams for centuries β and see the mysterious balancing rock.
From Mawlynnong, drive to Dawki on the Indo-Bangladesh border. Board a local boat on the Umngot River β one of the clearest rivers on Earth. The water is so transparent the boat appears to float in mid-air above visible riverbed. An experience that has to be seen to be believed.
As the day winds down, drive to Cherrapunji (Sohra) β once the world's wettest place β and settle in for the night.
04Cherrapunji Full-Day Sightseeingπ Local exploration Β· Overnight: Shillong
Rise early to catch Cherrapunji's mystical misty mornings β clouds rolling through valleys, waterfalls catching the first light. Today is packed with wonders: visit Eco Park with its canyon views, then stand in awe before Nohkalikai Falls β India's tallest plunge waterfall, dropping 340 m into a dramatically green pool.
Continue to Nohsngithiang (Seven Sisters) Falls, one of Meghalaya's most scenic cascades β seven distinct streams that merge in the monsoon into a single roaring curtain. Explore the fascinating Mawsmai Cave, a limestone cave with cathedral-like formations. End at Dainthlen Falls and the panoramic Thangkharang Park overlooking the Bangladesh plains.
Return to Shillong in the evening for your final overnight.
05Shillong β Departure Β· Guwahatiπ 100 km Β· ~3 hrs Β· Journey ends
After a relaxed final breakfast, check out of your hotel and begin the picturesque drive back to Guwahati Airport or Railway Station β approximately 100 km, 3 hours. Your driver will ensure a timely, comfortable transfer.
