Dona Paula ViewpointCool, dry and perfectly sunny — Goa at its absolute finest. Sea conditions are calm, all beach shacks are open, and the carnival atmosphere of Christmas and New Year fills the streets. The most celebrated travel window in Goa.
✓ Best for Kerala TravellersOctober sees the tail of the monsoon clearing — lush green Goa, fewer crowds and lower prices. March starts to warm but the beaches are still lovely and the sea is clear. Both months offer excellent value.
Good Value & QuieterHeavy rains, rough seas and most beach shacks close for the season. Many hotels offer very low rates. Water sports are unavailable and some roads flood. Not recommended for a beach holiday — best reserved for those who love dramatic green landscapes.
Avoid for Beach Trips🌴 Tip for Kerala Travellers: Goa is a short flight or overnight train from Kerala, making it ideal for school holiday breaks in December and January. The peak season perfectly aligns with Kerala school breaks. Book 4–6 weeks in advance for the December and New Year period as prices surge significantly.
