Day-by-Day Plan
Your Munnar Journey
01Trivandrum → Munnar · Arrival & Sightseeing📍 ~6 hrs drive · Reach by noon · Eravikulam · Echo Point
Rise early for a 6:30 AM departure from Trivandrum in your comfortable AC bus. As the city fades behind you, the road climbs steadily through rubber and cardamom plantations into the cool embrace of the Western Ghats. By noon, you arrive in Munnar — check into your hotel and enjoy a leisurely lunch.
The afternoon is reserved for three iconic attractions. Begin with Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr; the grassland slopes here are unlike anything else in South India. Next, stroll through Blossom Hydel Park, a beautifully landscaped garden beside a hydel stream, perfect for a leisurely evening walk. End the day at Echo Point, where the forested valley reflects your voice in spectacular fashion. Return to the hotel for a hot dinner and your first night among the hills.
02Full Day Munnar Sightseeing · Campfire Night📍 Mattupetty Dam · Top Station · Tea Museum · Local Shopping
After breakfast, an action-packed full day awaits. Head first to Mattupetty Dam — a picturesque masonry dam whose reservoir mirrors the surrounding shola forests. A boat ride here (at your own cost) is thoroughly recommended. Continue upward to Top Station at 1,700 metres, the highest point in Munnar and a former tea transport hub; on a clear day the view stretches across the Tamil Nadu border and down to the valley far below.
Swing by the scenic Lockhart Gap viewpoint before heading to the award-winning Tea Museum run by KDHP — a fascinating walk through the history of Munnar's tea industry with original machinery, photographs, and of course, a tasting session. The afternoon is free for browsing Munnar's vibrant spice and tea shops — stock up on fresh cardamom, pepper, and estate teas to take home.
The evening is the highlight of the trip: a special campfire dinner under open skies, with the cool mountain air and the soft crackle of the fire creating a memory you won't forget. Overnight stay at the hotel.
03Munnar → Trivandrum · Return Journey📍 Check out · ~6 hrs drive · Reach Trivandrum by evening
Enjoy one last breakfast at the hotel while soaking in the cool mountain morning. Check out and board the AC bus for the return journey to Trivandrum. The drive back through the winding ghats roads offers fresh perspectives on landscapes you may have missed on the way up — cascading streams, cardamom groves, and the sprawling plains gradually coming into view.
The group is expected to arrive back in Trivandrum by early evening, completing a memorable three-day escape to the tea hills of Kerala. Tour ends on arrival.
