Wat Traimit — The Golden Buddha
Home to the world's largest solid gold Buddha — a breathtaking 5.5-tonne, 3-metre-tall statue made entirely of 99% pure gold, valued at over $250 million. Discovered accidentally in 1955 when a plaster covering cracked to reveal the gold beneath. Housed in a spectacular 5-storey temple in Bangkok's Chinatown.
